I can't take credit for thinking of this turn of phrase. My old college roommate Joe Wagner came up with it. He always thought he was smarter and better than me. With this proof of his genius I am finally ready to concede the point. When he told me the idea it made me laugh, but when I thought about it more it made me laugh even harder. The statement is so true that I can imagine the religious right rallying behind the idea and starting a crusade against spooning. I'm going to go ahead and make a prediction. Spooning is going to be a wedge issue in the next election.
